The magic of Lake Titicaca
In Bolivia, Paradise is two hours from La Paz called Copacabana. Located on the shores of Lake Titicaca, the town passed a special energy. Copacabana itself is a small place, has little streets (top two), an imposing church and many little bars and businesses. Perhaps what gives it its magical aura is Lake: Located at 3800 meters, Lake Titicaca is located on the border between Bolivia and Peru.
The Titicaca is blue or turquoise, depending on how insolated. Anyone can venture to sail: kayas rented premises, sailing or rowing boats. The effort involves height and move the pot is more difficult, but letting go at the mercy of the current is a unique experience. It is impossible to lose sight of the shore, this quiet crescent with small spaced houses.
The lake has two islands that are worth knowing, but to get them you have to ride in one of the many power boats leaving every morning. Sun Island is the largest, with nearly 10 km long from north to south, and is a place with history: it was a place of great religious importance during the Inca Empire. Currently, the three communities that inhabit still use the method of cultivation terraces developed by the Incas. The Moon Island, located a few kilometers, is smaller and less accessible, but also has a lot of history and importance to the population.
Copacabana is one of the exit points of Bolivia, from where there are groups to Puno, a small town located on Lake also, but the Peruvian side. But for many, Copacabana is a point of arrival, every year, artisans and musicians choose the Lake as a place to live, the magic of Titicaca exerts power over them and convince them to stay, at least for a few months.
